Carbon fiber - it sounds like high-tech technology for space flights and top racing. Owners of cruising sailboats often prefer to avoid carbon as it's very expansive and if you need a repair - you can not fix it in any hidden corner of the earth.
With this workshop we want to make interested boat owners and skippers familiar with the basic of composite technology, so that they can laminate a carbon and PVC sandwich using epoxy vacuum infusion technology. Technology that was available only for the most expansive custom boats years ago and now you can see it quite often in shipyard brochures.
Why we think in YCB that composite technology is a mast have in cruising boat? - because it marries two worlds. Making the hull light and extremely stiff you make boat able to sail fast (not scary fast but normal fast) even with 3-meter dinghy, dishwasher, big generator and other staff without no cruising boat will leave a port.
