Our technicians have just completed another yacht conversion to lithium power — this time on a Bali 4.2 catamaran. It’s running on 900Ah Victron NG batteries and 1660Wp of Sunpower Maxeon rigid solar panels.

The owner decided to keep the stock alternators, so we routed them through DC-DC converters. And since the catamaran is heading off on long voyages, we asked Victron to slightly customize the system so that charging shuts off based on alternator temperature. In reality, this will probably never trigger — the alternators shouldn’t overheat since we’ve already limited the maximum current in the converter settings — but it adds some peace of mind
