ICE 53ST

ICE 53ST is a more racy modification of the fast and successful ICE 52 model.

Its versatile design was optimized to be used both for racing, thanks to its Race configuration, and for cruising, with interiors specifically designed for comfort. The distinctive bowsprit, unique to this model, immediately highlights its sporty character. "ST" stands for Sport Turismo, a concept designed to excel in sailing competitions while offering a comfortable cruising experience through its dual configuration.

Compared to the standard version, the boat is over two tons lighter, with a dry weight of approximately 10 tons and an enhanced sail plan for upwind and downwind sailing.
The new open space layout is distinguished by its strong symmetry and careful weight distribution, ideal for balancing a competitive yacht. The concentration of construction weights and main systems, along with the elimination of unnecessary ones, aims to maximize performance. The interiors have been designed to be extremely versatile, allowing for a smooth transition between the cruising and the more essential racing configurations.

The interior finish is a balance between white lacquered surfaces and lightweight composite panels, achieving significant weight savings compared to traditional construction without compromising the quality of the woodworking, which stands out for its refined finishes and exceptional details. Comfort is ensured by numerous standard accessories, including electric toilets and a watermaker.

The high construction technology and the incredible artisan quality guarantee top performances that Ice Yachts deliver with each boat. Hull and deck are carbon fiber, vacuum infused from a female mold and the carbon structure, also infused, is built directly on board. This choice is not only minimizing the weight, but it also improves the overall structural strength and resilience, hence allowing to withstand the high loads experienced during the most challenging races.

The cockpit, featuring wide seats and comfy backseat allows easy handling and maneuverings even with bigger teams onboard. The deck design was conceived to deliver the optimum compromise between easy handling in long distance cruises and maximum efficiency and performance during races.

DECK
The shell and the deck are laminated in infusion one step from the female mold using carbon in epoxy infusion, while the carbon structures are laminated in place and in infusion as well, becoming one with hull and deck. These choices, as well as containing the weights, give the boat a solidity and robustness able to withstand the repeated stresses and heavy loads faced in the most challenging regattas.
ICE 53ST is equipped with a Weldox steel fin with high mechanical properties and a lead bulb CNC (Computer Numerical Control) shape, which offer the advantage of reducing the weight of the ballast and, therefore, the total displacement of the boat, with the same righting moment.

The yacht's interior is a masterclass in versatility, meticulously designed to cater to both racing and cruising configurations. In its racing mode, the space is optimized for performance, featuring lightweight carbon flooring and practical details like a roller on the hatch for seamless spinnaker drops. The seat backs ingeniously convert into benches, offering flexibility and maximizing upwind weight distribution during intense sailing. Every element is considered to enhance efficiency without compromising comfort.

When transformed for cruising, the interior takes on a more inviting ambiance with warm wooden accents throughout. The spacious salon boasts a large table, perfect for gatherings, while the overall layout is adjusted to provide a cozier, more luxurious experience. This dual-purpose design ensures the yacht is equally suited for competitive racing and leisurely voyages, with every detail thoughtfully crafted to adapt to the demands of both.
